Sarah Cooper Novel ‘How To Be Successful Without Hurting Men’s Feelings’ Lands At CBS

Based on the novel by TikTok star Sarah Cooper, How To Be Successful Without Hurting Men’s Feelings, a comedy series of the same name has landed a spot at CBS, according to DeadlineThe series hails from Cooper, Cindy Chupack (Sex and the City), Nina Tassler (Gorge, The Optimist), Denise Di Novi’s (Unforgettable, Heathers), and CBS Television Studios.

How To Be Successful Without Hurting Men’s Feelings follows 3 different women, each working at male-dominated companies, while they aid each other in working through the challenges brought upon them by gender politics in the workplace and in social settings. Cooper, Chupack, Di Novi, and Joan Boorstein (Cold, Amity and Prosperity) are set to executive produce.

Prior to Cooper’s success on the online platform TikTok where she became famous for her lip-sync impressions of President Donald Trump, she served as a correspondent on the CBS All Access pilot Old News. Later on, she wrote 100 Tricks to Appear Smart in Meetings, as well as one of the writers on Science!.

In a statement, Cooper relayed her excitement to be working with PatMa on her series adaptation, “I was so excited when PatMa approached me about my book. I met with Cindy soon after and we immediately connected to this idea of sharing the experiences of women in their careers and personal lives in a way that stays true to what people love about the book but brings them to life through characters people identify with. Cindy totally got the sensibility and the satire but she also has the experience of telling compelling stories. I am thrilled to be working with her on this,” via Deadline

Chupack wrote several episodes of the popular dramedy Sex and the City, which were eventually nominated for Emmy and WGA awards. Alongside Sex and the City, Chupack also worked on Modern Family, Men in Trees, and Everyone Loves Raymond.

In a statement, Chupack said, “Sarah is a perfect example of ‘preparation meets opportunity.’ Her Trump lip-syncs fed a laugh-starved nation, but even before she was a household name, she wrote books that showcased her keen eye for the absurd. I’m thrilled to be collaborating with her to adapt How To Be Successful Without Hurting Men’s Feelings into a fresh, funny, subversive comedy about modern sexual politics,” per Deadline

The CBS series adaptation will yield the same name as its novel counterpart, however information regarding casting or filming as not been released yet.
