With a release date set for January 5, 2026, Canada’s CBC has revealed the trailer for season two of its crime drama Saint-Pierre, Deadline reports.
The new season, which spans 12 parts, was again shot on the French island Saint-Pierre et Miquelon and St. John’s Newfoundland, and will see detetive Fitz and Arch return as they try to control the fallout from the intense ending to season one as they set their sights on a new case, according to Deadline.
According to an official synopsis provided by Deadline, the pair grow closer personally and professionally despite their very different approaches to police work, as they investigate a potential serial killer on the loose, and a host of new criminals and unique villainy with specific ties to their jurisdiction.
“Gruesome doesn’t come close to describing this,” says an ominous voice over in the trailer as a forensics team explores a dark room where a dead man is stripped of his clothes and is positioned strangely against a wall. “Most of his organs were removed.”
Saint-Pierre‘s first season was CBC’s most watched new series of the year. Per Deadline, new episodes will release Monday nights at local time, broadcasting on CBC and streaming on CBC Gem.
The show is created by Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle, Caught), Robina Lord-Stafford (Moonshine, Wild Cards), and Perry Chafe (Son of a Critch, Frontier), and is produced by Hawco’s company Hawco Productions alongside Fifth Season, which manages international distribution, according to Deadline. Hawco also executive produces the series with Janine Squires (Hudson & Rex, Little Dog), Erin Sullivan (Son of a Critch), Lord-Stafford, and John Vatcher (The Shipping News, NYPD Blue).
Per Deadline, Hawco also leads the cast alongisde Josephine Jobert (Death in Paradise, Concordia), with James Purefoy (Rome, Sex Education), Benz Antoine (Four Brothers, Get Rich or Die Tryin’), Erika Prevost (The Boys, Dare Me) and Jean-Michel Le Gal (Paris Paris, Accused) featuring in supporting roles.
