On February 24th, Netflix hosted and streamed the 2024 Screen Actors Guild awards. The awards show brought some expected (and even unexpected) wins to the television lineup of nominees. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Bear led the pack by taking home three awards, followed by Beef which took home two. Check out the full list of wins below!
The Bear took home the award for best ensemble in a comedy series, Jeremey Allan White won for his performance and brought home the best performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. Ayo Edebiri took home the female actor award for best performance in a comedy series. Beef actors Ali Wong and Steve Yeun won the two awards for Best Performance by a Female and Male Actor in a Limited Series.
A highlight of the night that is circulating media, the internet, and headlines alike, is when a tipsy Pedro Pascal celebrated his win of the award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his work on The Last of Us. He started his speech off by stating “This is wrong for a number of reasons. Um, I’m a little drunk, I thought I could get drunk and uh… thank you HBO…” he then continued his speech met with laughter and joy as he exclaims “THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!” to the audience. He then rounded out his acceptance speech by saying “I’m gonna have a panic attack and I’m gonna leave.” Pascal beat out three actors from Succession, which has brought home awards all season.
