According to Variety, Glee creator Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, The Beauty) gives an update on the rumors of a potential reboot of the series. Murphy weighed in and revealed that there is, in fact, a script for the potential reboot.
“Well, funny you ask, ’cause I just finished the script an hour ago,” Murphy told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday via Variety. “So, we have a script. Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something. I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members. It’s very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.”
As per Variety, this news comes after Lea Michele (Scream Queens, The Price of Glee), who played Rachel Berry in all seasons of the series, stated she would be happy to come back if the series was rebooted. Speaking with E! News, she said, “I love Glee.’ I will always love Glee. I love Ryan Murphy. It just holds such a special place in my heart for me… I will follow Ryan wherever he goes.”
Variety reports Murphy noted that although there is a script, “nobody’s read it.” “So I don’t know, we’ll see,” he continued. “I vowed to myself that I wanted to write a couple of them to see what people think, particularly the cast, ’cause we were very close when we were making it.”
