Ryan Murphy Shares Concept for ‘Glee’ Reboot via Instagram

Rebooting the old musical comedy show Glee seems a bit outdated. However, with the help with the help of fans on Twitter, Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Eat Pray Love) teases his followers with an idea of a reboot with current popular actors according to Entertainment Weekly. While none of this is solidified in the works, Murphy has toyed around with reimagining this hit show.

Glee told the story of misfits joining their high school glee club, with drama, musical numbers an unbreakable bond built throughout the series that ran on Fox from 2009 to 2015. It starred Cory Monteith (Monte Carlo) as Finn Hudson, Lea Michele (Screen Queens) as Rachel Berry, Matthew Morrison as Will Schuester (What to Expect When You’re Expecting), Kevin McHale (True Blood) as Artie Abrams, Naya Rivera (The Royal Family) as Santana Lopez, Jenna Ushkowitz (Yellow Fever) as Tina Cohen-Chang, and many others who made their debut career within this series. The show won 4 Golden Globes including Jane Lynch (Wreck-it Ralph) as Sue Sylvester winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television .

Ideas for this dreamcast, crafted by fans on Twitter includes stars Timothée Chalamet (Lady Bird) as Finn Hudson, with Saoirse Ronan (Lovely Bones) as Rachel Berry. According to Entertainment Weekly, fans made these casting-calls due to personality similarities, such as Ronan’s bubbly personality to substitute for Berry. Other ideas include Brad Pitt as glee club director Will Schuester, with his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood costar Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street) to be Quinn Fabray. Murphy has previously wanted to reimagine Glee previously, with Michele, Ben Platt (Pitch Perfect) and Beanie Feldstein (What We Do in the Shadows) as stars.

There is no official Glee reboot as of now.
