The first official poster for Impeachment: American Crime Story, the third season of the hit FX true crime anthology series which will detail the Lewinisky/Clinton scandal, has arrived. Courtesy of Ryan Murphy (Glee), the series creator, he shared the powerful image of actress Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart) as Monica Lewinsky on his Instagram on Monday, via Collider.
Exploring the events that led to the impeachment of Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, the highly-anticipated third season of the critically-acclaimed series is fast approaching. The first poster see’s Feldstein as Lewinsky in her signature blue dress on the steps of the White House. Unveiling the poster on his Instagram, Murphy wrote: “Every side has story. Impeachment: @americancrimestoryfx premieres Sept 7, only on FX. #ACSImpeachment.”

A staple within American history and pop culture, the sex scandal between White House intern Lewinsky and President Clinton took over the public’s imagination in the late 1990s. Ruthlessly covered in the media and tabloids, the scandal in part led to Clinton being impeached by the House of Representatives in December, 1998.
The upcoming season is expected to be a meticulous study in depicting all the major events surrounding the impeachment, as previous seasons have been hailed for its stunning accuracy. Both the first and second seasons, The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, and The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, won critical acclaim and several accolades, including the Outstanding Limited Series Emmy Award in both 2016 and 2018.
In addition to Feldstein, the next installment of American Crime Story will feature Clive Owens (Lisey’s Story) as Bill Clinton, Edie Falco (The Sopranos) as Hilary Clinton, Margo Martindale (Mrs. America) as Luciana Goldberg, Annaleigh Ashford (Bad Education) as Paula Jones, Anthony Green (London’s Burning) as Al Gore, Billy Eichner (American Horror Story) as Matt Drudge, and Sarah Paulson (Ratched) as Linda Tripp. Paulson is notably returning to the series after winning the Best Actress Emmy Award for her portrayal as Marcia Clark in the first season of American Crime Story.
Impeachment: American Crime Story is based upon the novel A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Sex Scandal that Nearly Brought Down a President written by Jeffrey Toobin (The Run of His Life: The People vs. O.J. Simpson). Murphy and frequent collaborator Brad Falchuck (The Politician), will be executive producing alongside Lewinsky herself, who has been very involved with every aspect of the project. The third season will premiere on FX on Tuesday, September 7 at 10/9 c.
