Get ready Queens! RuPual’s Drag Race has been renewed for an 11th season by VH1. This news comes while the reality competition is about to have the finale for it’s current season on June 28.
“We are thrilled that Drag Race will continue to lead the conversation of inclusion and diversity as the show embarks on its eleventh season,” said Pamela Post, senior VP of original programming and development at VH1. “It’s unprecedented for a show to continue to grow on the scale that Drag Race has, and it’s just the beginning.”
Host and executive producer RuPaul Charles also commented on the series renewal saying, “After 10 sickening seasons, the Drag Race phenomenon is just getting started. I want to thank VH1 for providing this amazing platform for a whole new generation of super talented drag queens.”
According to Variety, season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race averaged around 1.2 million viewers in total which makes it the most watched season of the series to date. RuPaul has another show being renewed on VH1 called RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked which will make it the 11th season for the aftershow as well.
The next episode on Thursday will see the final four queens write and perform a verse from RupPaul’s hit song American. It seems like it’s going to be a must-see episode!
RuPaul’s Drag Race airs Thursdays on VH1 at 8pm PT/ET.
