Rotten Tomatoes Gives ‘Andor’ Season Two The Best Rating Of All ‘Star Wars’ Live-Action Series

According to the Instagram account @Screenthrill, Andor season two has broken Star Wars records by reaching Rotten Tomatoes score of 98% after screen releases of the full season were sent to critics.  The review site, known for its often-harsh ratings, gives a Critics Consensus of, “Investing startling conviction and gravity into the Star Wars sandbox, Andor‘s superb second season lights a fire of rebellion that heats up the screen.”

@Screenthrill goes on to rejoice in the fact that the new rating beats out Andor season one by two percent and The Madalorian season two by four percent. They claim this is the franchise’s finest hour and beg the question, “Are we entering Star Wars finest hour?”

In a raving review from Slashfilm, they claim the new season not only lives up to expectations, but it’s also unlike anything Star Wars fans have ever seen. This fits the narrative previously reported by mxdwn in which the showrunner claimed they aim to set the show apart from the previous series by making it much darker and with a serious tone that highlights the oppressive effects of the empire.

Over on X, users who were in on the screening also boast about its amazing debut. User @GermainLussier claims, “I cried, I cheered, I laughed, I gasped. It’s smart, sophisticated, propulsive, entertaining and hugely resonant. Everything you want & more. It’s miracle.” He goes on to claim that it’s not only Star Wars at its best, but it could also be the pinnacle of all story telling.

In another X post, @clonehumor alleges, with a photo that looks like it may have been taken on an old Nokia brick phone, “they gave Chopper a gun for season two.” The low-quality image seems to confirm these claims.

The second season of Andor will premiere for all to stream on Disney+ April 22. See for yourself if it lives up to the hype.
