Rose McIver (iZombie) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project) are set to star in the American adaptation of British comedy series Ghosts at CBS, according to Deadline. The new show, written by the duo of New Girl producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, is CBS’s third comedy pilot to get a series order in the last year, after B Positive and United States of Al, both from Chuck Lorre.
In Ghosts, McIver and Ambudkar’s characters, a couple in the series, have their “dreams come true” upon inheriting a house in the country but are shocked when they find the house crumbling and occupied by its many dead previous residents, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rebecca Wisocky (Devious Maids), Brandon Scott Jones (The Good Place), Danielle Pinnock (Young Sheldon), Asher Grodman (Chicago Med), Richie Moriarty (What We Do in the Shadows), Sheila Carrasco (I Think You Should Leave) and Román Zaragoza (Shadow Wolves) will also star.
The series is executive produced by Port, Wiseman, Angie Stephenson. Stars of the UK series, Matthew Baynton, Jim Howick, Simon Farnaby, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond and Martha Howe-Douglas will also executive produce, alongside UK series producers Alison Carpenter, Debra Hayward and Alison Owen. Trent O’Donnell (New Girl) directed and executive produced the pilot.
