Comickbook reports that Ahsoka star actress, Rosario Dawson (Rent, Clerks III), has announced that filming has finally begun for the second season. Dawson confirmed production with an artistic shot posted to her Instagram account, featuring her feet in otherworldly shoes and her shadow on the ground, outlining her in the full Ahsoka Tano costume. The caption reads, ““[And] we’re off…to galaxies far, far away….!”

As previously reported by mxdwn, at a special Star Wars Celebration event in Japan, fans got a preview of what’s in store for season two. Fans were treated to previously unreleased behind-the-scenes photos from season one. They also got an early glimpse of production images from season two as well as concept art that alluded to the storyline.
In a previous article, Comicbook mentioned that there had been criticism for the lackluster filming of the series. They included the mention of bland visuals and limited space. Lucasfilm responded by claiming they will do some location shooting to liven up the imagery. Maybe they will use some of the new AI tools that have recently emerged for production that mxdwn reported on earlier this year. This could speed up the process and give the much-needed beauty that Lucasfilm has long been known for.
Also announced at the celebration in Japan, per mxdwn, character Baylan Skoll will now be portrayed by Rory Mcann (Game of Thrones, Jumanji: Next Level), being that the original actor, Ray Stevenson (Punisher: Warzone, Kill The Irishman) has passed. The original actor who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the first season will also return, Hayden Christensen (Revenge of the Sith, Attack of the Clones). The show will continue to be helmed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars Rebels, The Mandalorian). There is no official release date as of yet, but Ahsoka season two will be available for streaming on Disney+.
