Let’s do the time warp again!
Can it be Halloween already?!
Still several months away, Fox has just released a thirty second teaser trailer for the upcoming Halloween premiere of The Rocky Horror Picture Show made-for-tv remake.
The cult classic remake is set to run approximately two hours on Fox later this year and features an all-star cast. Returning to show his approval of the re-imagining story is Tim Curry as the Criminologist Narrator, who originally played Frank-N-Furter in the first movie.
Stepping into Curry’s old role is none other than Laverne Cox, who plays a mad scientist who is not afraid of exploring her sexuality. Doctor Frank-N-Furter is leading the annual Transylvanian science competition to show off her newest experiment, Rocky Horror— a very attractive man that Frank-N-Furter created all for her own gratification.
While hosting this event, lovers Janet Weiss and Brad Majors find their way to the front door of the convention. The audience can expect a whirlwind of events during this two hour movie, including the sexual conquests of Doctor Frank-N-Furter, singing and dancing.
According to Deadline, playing Janet Weiss is Nickelodeon star, Victoria Justice. Ryan McCartan will be the new Brad Majors. Staz Nair is the mad experiment better known as Rocky Horror. Others starring in this reimagining include Adam Lambert as Eddie, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, Annaleigh Ashford as Columbia, Christina Milian as Magenta, Ivy Levan as Usherette, Ben Vereen as Dr. Everett Scott and of course Tim Curry, returning as the show’s Criminologist Narrator.
It has been over 40 years since the original movie came out and since we first learned how to do the “Time Warp”.
This new teaser trailer has given us a taste of what is to come in the new telling of the classic movie musical which was directed by Kenny-Ortega.
Until Halloween comes around feel free to rewatch this trailer as may times as you need to. You can catch all the sexual tension and mad science experiments in about five months and then you can have the “Time Warp” stuck in your head for another 40 years before another reimagining occurs.
