

According to an exclusive article from Deadline, young actor Cary Christopher (Days of Our Lives, Weapons) will join the cast as a guest star in HBO’s eight-episode series Lanterns, which is based on the DC comics of Green Lantern. Created by Chris Mundy (Ozark, Criminal Minds), Damon Lindelof (Mrs. Davis, The Leftovers), and comic book writer Tom King, the series will follow John Stewart, the new recruit, and Hal Jordan, the legendary Green Lantern.
In the show, the two intergalactic cops are drawn into a mystery on Earth: a murder that has occurred on American soil. John Stewart and Hal Jordan will be played by Aaron Pierre (Krypton, Genius) and Kyle Chandler (Bloodline, Grey’s Anatomy), respectively. On the other hand, Christopher will play Young Noah. Deadline writes that he is “a polite and charming small-town kid. Quite gifted for his age and effortlessly good at whatever he tries, he’s happiest when passing a football.”
According to Deadline, Christopher’s first acting credit was for his appearance in the Vudu series Mr. Mom, when he was three years old. Later, when he was seven, his role of Thomas DiMera from the Peacock series Days of Our Lives earned him a 2023 Daytime Emmy nomination.
In the future, Deadline writes that Christopher will appear in another comic book series as a recurring guest in Spider-Noir, the forthcoming MGM+ and Prime Video series that will star Nicolas Cage (Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) the eponymous Marvel character. Christopher will also will make his film debut in Warner Bros’ mystery-horror film Weapons, directed by Zach Cregger (Barbarian, The Civil War on Drugs).
HBO produces Lanterns in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios, according to Deadline. Mundy, the showrunner, Lindelof, and King will co-write and executive produce. The first two episodes were directed and executive produced by James Hawes (Doctor Who, Merlin).
