Ah geez, Rick, they’ve been waiting on this one! Rick and Morty fans can rejoice as their favorite grandpa-grandson duo is set to return for the final episodes of its fourth season. Adult Swim and the successful animated series premiered its fourth season in the fall of 2019 before pausing after its fifth episode in mid-December. Based on the new trailer, the second half of the season will air on Sunday, May 3 at 11:30 PM ET and will conclude its tenth and final episode on Sunday, May 31, according to Variety.
Rick and Morty first aired in December of 2013 and became renowned for its offbeat satirical comedy mixed with philosophical storylines. The series, created by Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (Gravity Falls), is an animated comedy that incorporates unique science fiction themes as the “Smartest Man in the Universe” and alcoholic Rick Sanchez takes his naive grandson Morty Smith on dangerous and questionable adventures. The duo is voiced by creator Roiland. Rick and Morty’s cast also includes Rick’s Daughter and Morty’s mother Beth Smith, voiced by Sarah Chalke (Scrubs), Morty’s Father Jerry Smith, voiced by Chris Parnell (Archer and Saturday Night Live), and Morty’s sister Summer Smith, voiced by Spencer Grammer (Greek).
This Adult Swim animated comedy has garnered a gigantic fanbase and the announcement of its fourth season return has graced fans with excitement. Currently, the full series is available to stream on the Adult Swim website with a cable provider in addition to the first three seasons available on Hulu.
