Amazon’s pilot for Strange New Things (not to be confused with Stranger Things) has found its lead.
Today Deadline announced that Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) has been cast as the lead in the new drama pilot from Amazon. Strange New Things is based on the novel The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber.

But instead of traveling to a different country to be a missionary, Peter finds himself sent by a private corporation to a distant planet called Oasis. On Oasis Peter is greeted by a native population ready to learn from him and embrace his teachings. But after a while Peter learns his mission on Oasis may prove more harmful than he realized, and his he may not have a home to return to.
Richard Madden is best known for his role as Robb Stark (may he rest in peace) on Game of Thrones. He also played Prince Charming in the recent live-action Cinderella and appeared in Bastille Day with Idris Elba.
Strange New Things is written by Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) and produced by Andy Harries (Strike Back) and Lila Rawlings. The pilot hails from Amazon Studios and Left Bank Productions and has tapped Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland) to direct.
