In season three, viewers tag along with the Rez Dogs as they find themselves stranded in California and need to figure out their way back home, maybe in more ways than physical.

There’s also some new members of the cast and returning faces! Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds, Longmire) as the tribal cop called Big, Bucky returns and is played by Wes Studi (Dances With Wolves, The Last of the Mohicans), Brownie (Gary Farmer, Dead Man, Smoke Signals) returns as stoned as ever! Audiences can also give a warm welcome back to Deer Lady (Kaniehtiio Horn, Alice, Darling, Letterkenny) Leon (Jon Proudstar, So Close to Perfect, Young Guns II), who is Willie Jack’s dad. Bear’s cousin Teenie (Tamara Podemski, Coroner, Outer Range) and mom Rita (Sarah Podemski, Love Alaska, Mekko), Daniel’s mom Hokti (Lily Gladstone, Killers of the Flower Moon, Certain Woman), Kenny Boy (Kirk Fox, Jury Duty, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Old Man Fixico (Richard Ray Whitman, Drunktown’s Finest, Four Sheets to the Wind) and Bev (Jana Schmieding, Rutherford Falls, Clone High). Of course there’s also no way of forgetting the iconic rap duo Mose (Lil Mike, Lord Finn, America’s Got Talent) and Mekko (FunnyBone, America’s Got Talent).
According to TVLine, the official description of season three of Reservation Dogs is: “after making it back to Okern, Elora considers the idea of college, Bear comes across a conspiracy theorist named Maximus, Willie Jack crowns more invested in healing her community and Cheese, well, he still lives with his grandmother who’s not his grandmother, meanwhile the aunties, uncles and elders explore their pasts and try to heal old wounds.”
The creator of Reservation Dogs, Sterlin Harjo (Four Sheets to the Wind, Barking Water), announced on June 29 that season three would undoubtably be the final season of Reservation Dogs. He stated that he “always knew what the end of this story would be, I just didn’t know when it would arrive. As we continues to break stories and write scripts this season, it became clear to the producers, Taika and me that the season three finale is the perfect series finale.”
While the entertaining series is sadly coming to a close, Harjo teased that audiences can still expect to see the core crew within other stories in the Reservation Dogs universe.
Season three premieres on Wednesday, August 2 on Hulu.
