

According to Deadline, reality television star Chad Ollinger is facing alleged murder charges in connection with the death of his Las Vegas prison cellmate. Ollinger appeared on the reality series Mystery At Blind Frog Ranch, which aired on the Discovery Channel.
On October 27, Deadline reports Ollinger was taken into custody in Nevada as a fugitive for an alleged contempt of court charge. According to Amarillo’s KFSA News Channel 10, Ollinger was sentenced on December 18 with a release date of January 12, 2026.
Deadline reports that routine cell checks on December 26 resulted in correction officers discovering Ollinger’s cellmate motionless in his bed. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Sheriff Kevin McMahill, officers found the inmate “was suffering from apparent blunt force injuries.” Forty-one-year-old Ollinger was taken into custody. Officers immediately administered aid and called for medical personnel to respond to the victim, identified as 42-year-old Christopher Kelly, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to Deadline, The docu-series chronicles, Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch in Utah ran for five seasons with Ollinger appearing in almost all 40 episodes. The series takes viewers on a journey with Ollinger and his father, Duane Ollinger, as they search for $3 billion that is believed to be hidden in underground caverns on the ranch. The series is said to investigate mysteries loosely connected to the ranch, such as UFOs and lost civilizations. The property takes its name from the blind frogs living in underground tunnels on the ranch. The series concluded last August.
According to Deadline, this is Ollinger’s latest and most serious, in a series of run-ins with the law in recent years. He was charged with alleged evading arrest with Amarillo, TX police in 2024, and was later dealt a driving with an invalid license charge. Ollinger is scheduled for a hearing on December 30, 2025, in Las Vegas
