In the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, viewers saw the building feud between the Gorgas and the Giudices explode when the brothers-in-law got physical.
In the episode, the two families went on a retreat in hopes of resolving the long-time conflict and introducing peace into the family. Instead, Joe Gorga and Joe Giudice got into a physical altercation after Gorga called sister Teresa “scum”.
Teresa Giudice, desperate for help, summoned Caroline Manzo to the retreat house in Lake George, N.Y. The episode ended with Joe Gorga and Teresa breaking down in tears during their counseling session with Dr. Venus Nicolino.
The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Caroline Manzo about what is ahead for the two families and previewed another big trip for the cast.
“It was shock. I certainly didn’t expect to hear from anyone. I expected to hear stories afterward. I was very surprised to hear from Teresa. As I mentioned on the show, for her to call me, I knew there had to be a crisis mode going on. She’s a strong girl and doesn’t usually ask for help. I knew something was up,” Manzo told the Hollywood Reporter when asked about her initial feelings of the call for help. Manzo arrived in Lake George at 10:30 that same morning.
Manzo continues to say that in the upcoming episodes, the housewives travel to Arizona to attempt to resolve the family feuds once and for all. This time, all the housewives and their husbands will be in attendance. “We try to make things better as a group,” Manzo tells the Hollywood Reporter. “There were some of the most amazing moments ever; a lot of truth comes out. A lot of people that don’t necessarily open up, do, and what they reveal is shocking, and you’ll sit there and cry. All of us cried so much in Arizona you could have filled a river. And the people that expressed these emotions are people you would never expect to. It was amazing.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
