Raza Jaffrey Hops Aboard Netflix’s ‘Lost in Space’

For those who may not have heard, Netflix is working on adapting Irwin Allen’s famed classic, Lost in Space. As the title may suggest, the series will keep its science-fiction roots as it tells the tale of a family lost light years away from their intended destination. The Robinsons will have to deal with foreign alien places all while trying to keep themselves together as a family.

Casting news has begun to emerge from this new iteration of the classic story. Recently, Deadline reported that actor Raza Jaffrey has successfully attained the role of Victor. According to the article, Victor is a slightly pompous, well put together man with a bit of a condescending streak. He’s been setting up for his career in politics almost from day one, but he struggles with the fear that people may find out that he is not be as together as he seems.

Jeffrey has made appearances on other mainstream networks, such as CBS and NBC. He was a series regular for a time on Code Black as well as NBC’s Smash. Jaffrey is also known for his work on Homeland as Aasar Khan, the counter-terrorism chief of Pakistan’s ISI. Jaffrey is represented by Principal LA and United.

Although his casting has just been announced, Lost in Space is expected to air on Netflix in 2018.
