According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Raymond Cham Jr. (The Big Leap, The Idea of You) will be joining the cast of Hulu’s hit series Paradise for season two. Cham is one of several new additions, including Shailene Woodley (Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars) and Thomas Doherty (The Invitation, High Fidelity).

Details about season two are scarce, so little is known about Cham’s role besides the fact that he will be playing a recurring character. According to THR, production has begun on the second season of the popular science fiction series, though no premiere date is in place as of yet.

Paradise follows the story of secret service agent Xavier Collins, played by Sterling K. Brown (Black Panther, American Fiction), who is tasked with protecting the president, played by James Marsden (Enchanted, X-Men) in a seemingly quaint community called Paradise. The show’s first episode shocked viewers by murdering the president and revealing that the quaint little community is more than meets the eye. Paradise is actually housed in a vast cave, deep underground, serving as a safe haven from a massive natural disaster and subsequent nuclear strike that ravaged the world, according to THR.

In addition to Brown, the first season also starred Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown, Dope Girls), Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest, Sex/Life), Jon Beavers (The Lying Game, The Long Road Home), Nicole Brydon Bloom (1BR, The Gilded Age), Krys Marshall (For All Mankind, Supergirl), Charlie Evans (The 100, The Flash), Aliyah Mastin (The Wonder Years, The Resident), Percy Daggs III (Veronica Mars, American Son), and Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue, Workin’ Moms) according to THR.

Hulu reportedly renewed the show for a second season back in February. Series creator Dan Fogelman (Life Itself, This is Us) told THR that he has a “very precise three-year plan [for the show], and this next season coming is kind of the middle episode of our trilogy with also its own beginning, middle and end.” It’s yet to be seen what the middle installment of Fogelman’s trilogy will entail.
