Raul Esparza’s Assistant District Attorney Rafael Barba is here to stay.
The Broadway regular has been promoted to series regular status on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Deadline reports. His character recurred throughout the show’s 14th season and quickly became a fan favorite.
According to SVU producer Warren Leight, Esparza’s promotion “is a small way of acknowledging his enormous contribution to [the] show.”
Esparza’s television work also includes a role in Pushing Daisies and, more recently, NBC’s Hannibal.
