Rachel DiPillo ex cast member of Jane the Virgin, has joined the cast of Chicago Med.
DiPillo is expected to play a recent medical school graduate who is interning in the Emergency Room. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DiPollo is expected to join a cast that includes; Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Colin Donnell, Brian Tee and Torrey DeVitto. These cast members as well as Rachel signed on for the fall premiere yesterday.
Original cast member, Lauren Holden departed the show before the first season. Lauren left due to previous family engagements even though she was the original internal in the Chicago spin off.
After the many failed Chicago pilots on NBC, Chicago Med is an attempt of the television station to have a good fall show line up.
Rachel’s character who will be named Dr. Reece, is expected to be a young and vibrant character for the show. According to Tvline.com,”Dr. Reese is fresh out of medical school and “comes in with a lot of confidence because she’s been straight-A, super-proficient, accomplished at everything.” Now Dr. Reece is expected to make it in the ER like she did in med school.
Before filming begins in September, Chicago Med is still seeking a charge nurse. DiPillo has also acted in the popular tv show, Mad Men. Chicago Med premieres November 17, on NBC at 10pm.
