Rachel Bilson and Kaitlin Doubleday Cast in ‘Nashville’

After the shocking death that happened on Nashville a few weeks ago, more casting for the show has been announced. Entertainment Weekly has reported that Rachel Bilson and Kaitlin Doubleday have joined the show as series regulars.

Showrunner Marshall Herskovitz commented on the casting, saying “We welcome Rachel and Kaitlin into our incredibly talented ensemble. We fondly anticipate the second half of the season filled with surprising twists and turns that make Nashville so beloved by the fans.”

Doubleday also took to Twitter to confirm the news, telling her fans that she’s excited that her fans will sing.

Bilson is known for her role as Summer Roberts on the Fox teen drama The O.C. She played Summer throughout the show’s run, despite the character only supposed to be in a few episodes originally. She also starred in the CW’s Hart of Dixie as Dr. Zoe Hart, a doctor who moves to Alabama to become a better doctor so she can fulfill her dreams of being a cardio-thoracic surgeon like her father was.

As for Doubleday, she was a regular on Empire until her character, Rhonda, was killed off in the season three premiere of the show this past September. Besides her role on Empire, she’s done a lot of guest starring work on CSI: Miami, Criminal Minds and appeared in Catch Me If You Can.

Nashville airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. on CMT. The show is currently taking a midseason break, with no date announced for when the show will return.
