The upcoming Quibi original comedy series Mapleworth Murders has released a full-length trailer prior to its premiere date on August 10. The new series will be overseen by executive producers Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live), Seth Meyers (Documentary Now!) in addition to Paula Pell (Saturday Night Live), John Lutz (30 Rock), Michael Shoemaker (A.P. Bio), and Andrew Singer (Documentary Now!, 30 Rock) while its episodes are being directed by Claire Scanlon (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Glow). Pell and Lutz additionally wrote for the series and are set to star.
Mapleworth Murders is set up as a mystery series as it follows a writer, Abigail Mapleworth, set on solving homicides in her hometown. Abigail will be portrayed by Pell and the rest of the main cast includes Lutz, J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Millers), and Hayley Magnus (The Wrong Girl) in unspecified roles. Additional cast includes the likes of Tim Meadows (Mean Girls), Fred Armisen (Portlandia), Patton Oswalt (The King of Queens), Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids), D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place, Barry), Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors, MadTV), and Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Everybody Hates Chris).
Premiering on August 10, Mapleworth Murders’ first season will consist of twelve episodes on the mobile streaming platform Quibi. Quibi is currently being offered at $4.99 per month with a 14-day free trial. Check out the first season trailer below:
