Kevin Hart’s upcoming series Die Hart is coming to Quibi, according to Deadline. The series will feature ten episodes which air consecutively, starting July 20. The season finale airs July 29.
The description of the trailer uploaded by Quibi explains what viewers can expect: “In Die Hart, Kevin Hart plays a fictionalized version of himself who’s tired of being the comedic sidekick. He gets his wish when a famous director offers him his dream – to be a leading man action star – but there’s a catch: Kevin must first train at the world’s greatest action star school, run by a lunatic. Pushed to his limits by this action school coach and a tough-minded rival student, Kevin must survive a series of hilarious, over-the-top action sequences and face his fears if he wants to achieve his dream and land the role of a lifetime.”
As described by Quibi, Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) stars as a “tough-minded rival student” and John Travolta (Grease, Pulp Fiction) plays the “action school coach”. Travolta’s character teaches Hart the craft of acting in action films while training under Travolta’s supervision. Other cast members include Jean Reno (The Visitors) and Josh Hartnett (Cracker).
The series is co-created by Tripper Clancey (Stuber) and Derek Kolstad (John Wick franchise) and is directed by Eric Appel (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). Hart acts as the executive producer alongside other producers Jeff Clanagan (What Now?), Candice Wilson (Alone), and Bryan Smiley (Jumper).
The new streaming service Quibi offers shows that are ten minutes in length and air consecutively, with the option of a 14-day free trial. Die Hart comes to the small screen on July 20. Check out the poster below.
