The mobile streaming platform Quibi has released its first look at the upcoming horror series The Stranger, according to Deadline. Quibi launched its streaming service on April 6 with a collection of different series releasing new episodes every day. The upcoming horror program is set to release its first episode on April 13. The Stranger is produced by Fox 21st Century TV Studios and is under the supervision of its creator and showrunner Veena Sud (The Killing and Cold Case). Although the series has been teased for months before its streaming service launch, this is the first look interested fans have received.
The Stranger follows a woman who drives part-time for a ridesharing service who picks up a strange and unnerving passenger. The program will center on the twelve-hour trip with the driver and passenger through dark and twisted streets of Los Angeles. The minute-long trailer flashes moments of confusion and distress that the two characters will face throughout the series’ duration. The cast includes Avan Jogia (Victorious and Zombieland: Double Tap), Dane DeHaan (Chronicle and The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and Maika Monroe (The Guest and It Follows).
The horror series is set to be a part of Quibi’s second onslaught of original content after its first programs premiered at the service’s launch. Check out The Stranger’s first-look teaser trailer below:
