Showtime ordered a new limited series titled Purity starring Daniel Craig. Craig has received international acclaim for his body of work on screen, stage, and television. He is best-known to audiences across the globe for his role as James Bond AKA Agent 007 in the blockbuster franchise. However, Craig made it known that he is done portraying the popular agent despite being offered millions to play Bond again.
But fans of Craig will see the actor performing in a different setting. Purity is based on the best-selling novel by Jonathan Franzen and is produced by Craig alongside Todd Field (Little Children, In the Bedroom), David Hare, Scott Rudin, and Franzen. Field will also write and direct the series with Hare and Franzen also assisting as writers.
Purity is morally intricate story of idealism amongst the youth, loyalty, and cold-blooded murder. Franzen’s detailed plotted novel is packed with characters who are hungry for the truth but also desperate to hide it. From STASI offspring to Oakland anarchists, Franzen’s characters come from all area of the world including East Berlin, the Bolivian jungle, East Harlem, and the California Redwoods. Purity is a decades-spanning comedy drama that will build suspense throughout the series.

Production for Purity is set to start in 2017.
