Big Shot, the John Stamos (Full House) led series for Disney+, has been forced to shut down production due to a positive Covid-19 test. According to Deadline, those on the project decided to suspend production for ten days after the positive test came up during regular screenings.
While production is suspended, cast and crew who have been exposed to the infected individual are being required to quarantine, including Stamos. These quarantines are in accordance with state, county, and Disney production guidelines, according to Deadline.
Big Shot takes place at an all girls private school where Stamos’ character finds himself employed as a teacher and coach after being fired from his position as a head coach for a collegiate basketball team.
Stamos spoke out on Twitter about how the production shut down has affected him personally, as well as his family. Due to quarantining, Stamos revealed he has been unable to see his young son.
This is not the first time Big Shot has been shut down due to the ongoing global pandemic. Via Deadline, filming on Big Shot was paused for a day in November 2020 due to a false positive test result. Shortly after the pause of production, an individual in Zone 1 of production tested positive on December 11, shutting down production for the remainder of the year until after the holiday shooting hiatus.
According to the time frame referenced in Stamos’ tweet, production on Big Shot should resume sometime during the week of February 8. The series currently has no set premiere date, but is expected to drop on the Disney+ in late 2021.
