Euphoria Season 3 has officially begun production, with an announcement shared on social media Monday morning. The news follows promise made in November by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, that filming would commence in early 2025, featuring the return of the main cast. This came after rumors that Euphoria creator, Sam Levinson (The Idol), might cancel the show’s 2025 shoot and plans of a third season. Bloys also shared in July that the upcoming season will consist of eight full-length episodes.
The season two finale left several unresolved storylines, including the fate of Fezco’s partner in crime, Ashtray, played by Javon Walton (The Umbrella Academy). Fezco was portrayed by the late Angus Cloud (Abigail, Your Lucky Day), who passed away in 2023 due to an overdose. Fans are left wondering if Laurie will pursue Rue, whether Cal Jacobs has truly exited the series and if Lexi and Cassie’s sisterly bond can ever recover after the exploitative events at Lexi’s play.
Zendaya (Challengers, Dune), the Emmy-winning star, will return alongside strong cast, including Hunter Schafer (Kinds of Kindness, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), Nika King (Funny Married Stuff, Greenleaf), Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy), Jacob Elordi (Priscilla, The Kissing Booth), Algee Smith (Judas and the Black Messiah), Sydney Sweeney (The White Lotus, The Handmaid’s Tale), Alexa Demie (Fantasmas), Maude Apatow (Hollywood, Girls), Walton, Dominic Fike (Anyone But You, Barbie) and Austin Abrams (This is Us, Dash & Lily).
Euphoria was created by Ron Leshem (Allegiance) and Daphna Levin (In Therapy) and was based on the Israeli show of the same name. The drama series is executive produced by Levinson, Kevin Turen (Irma Vep), Ravi Nandan (Beef, Mo), Drake (Degrassi: The Next Generation), Adel “Future” Nur (Top Boy), Zendaya, Will Greenfield (Malcolm & Marie), Ashley Levinson (MaXXXine), Ron Leshem (No Man’s Land, Valley of Tears), Daphna Levin (The Truth) and Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein (Scarred).
