It appears the live-action rendering of New Vegas is coming a day early. Prime Video announced via Sphere in Las Vegas that season two of Fallout will arrive on screens on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET. View the larger-than-life announcement from the show’s X account.
The anticipated second season returns fans to the dystopian Wasteland with Lucy, Maximus and the Ghoul as they venture to a new terrain — New Vegas — in pursuit of both Lucy and the Ghoul’s missing family members. Along the way, they will encounter a new lethal villain known by video game enthusiasts as Deathclaw.
Based on the Bethesda Studios video game, Fallout is an epic adventure of the haves and have-nots in an alternate America set 200 years after nuclear war decimated civilization. If one survived, most citizens live day-to-day in factions and territories splintered by violence. But a select few were lucky enough to live underground, believing they were working on a cure to bring to the lives above. When these two worlds collide, the truth is stranger than fiction.
The series stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Sweet Pea), Aaron Moten (Emancipation, Father Stu) and Walton Goggins (The White Lotus, Justified) as Lucy, Maximus and the Ghoul, respectively. Other cast members include Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Desperate Housewives), Mosies Arias (The King of Staten Island, Monos) and Frances Turner (The Boys, The Man in the High Castle). Season two will also see the arrival of Justin Theroux (The Leftovers, The White House Plumbers and MaCauly Cullkin (Party Monster, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York).
The series, which was renewed for an early third season, has quickly become the streamer’s third most-watched title ever with more than 100 million viewers worldwide, according to the Prime Video press release. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films, the premiere episode drops Tuesday evening with a new episode released weekly until the season finale on February 4.
