

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Prime Video’s The Chosen has revealed an official premiere date with a new trailer for the series’ fifth season, The Last Supper. The series, coming to Prime Video, follows producers rolling out the eight-episode season in select theaters via Fathom Special Events.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Chosen: Last Supper Parts 1, 2 and 3 have a combined gross of $60 million globally at the box office since March 26. This is an increase from the theatrical hauls for seasons three and four, which did about the same with both combined. The series launched as a crowd-funded effort in 2019 and has since grown into a global phenomenon.
The Chosen is an American Christian historical drama that offers its perspective on the life of Jesus. The series focuses on interactions with ordinary people and the disciples who followed him
The synopsis for the new season of the series is as follows: “Season five follows Jesus’ triumph to treachery as his final days unfold in a story that changed the world. Welcomed as a king into Jerusalem, he boldly confronts the corrupt merchants, sparking a chain of events that shakes the city. While religious leaders scramble to silence his growing influence, Jesus shares one last meal with his closest followers. But in the shadows, Judas makes a deal that seals both their fates. In a tale of power, faith and betrayal that echoes through time – one man’s ultimate sacrifice becomes humanity’s greatest story.”
The cast of the series includes Jordan Walker Ross (El Tonto Por Cristo) as Little James, Elizabeth Tabish (The Shift) as Mary Magdalene, Shahar Isaac (The Good Fight) as Simon Peter, Jonathan Roumie (Chicago Med) as Jesus, Paras Patel (The DUFF) as Matthew, Noah James (Shameless) as Andrew, George H. Xanthis (Deep Water) as John, Shaan Sharma (SEAL Team) as Shmuel and many others.
