Prime Video’s ‘The Boys’ Star Aya Cash Teases That The New Prequel ‘Vought Rising’ Will Be “Insanely Good”

Prime Video’s The Boys, during this year’s edition of Comic Con, has confirmed to be working on prequel of the show named Vought Rising, which will focus on Soldier Boy, portrayed by Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, Tracker) and Stormfront, played by Aya Cash (The Franchise, Welcome to Flatch). Nothing has been confirmed about the show yet, as fans only know that it is set in 1950 and will show the two characters’ early journeys. In an exclusive interview with Comicbook about her new HBO series, The Franchise, Cash explained that the series will be “insanely good” and will start filming soon.

“No, we don’t actually know yet,” Cash said via Comicbook.com. “I’ve read two scripts and they’re absolutely insanely good. But that’s about all I can tell you.”

According to Comicbook.com, Prime Video announced The Boys: Mexico and new season of Gen V, another spinoff series of the franchise. “In an interview with Comicbook, the creator of the series, Eric Kripke (Revolution, Supernatural), has previously shared more about the franchise’s spinoffs.

“I think they can and should continue. The Boys story is about Butcher and Homelander and these two planets crashing into each other and this particular story doesn’t work without both of them. And you can only keep that going for so long,” Kripke explained via Comicbook.com. “So what I would say is, this particular story is ending, the Butcher-Homelander is ending. But there can be other stories and other corners of the universe. And hopefully, it’s vibrant and perverted enough to allow for those stories. So hopefully, Gen V continues, hopefully, a couple other things we have in development continue.”

According to Comicbook.com, in another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kripke shared that the fifth season of The Boys will end the show in a great way, but it won’t overwhelm the fans.

“Part of it is such a wonky stupid screenwriter thing but three and five are the big magical numbers for writing,” Kripke explained via Comicbook.com. “Three is movie acts, TV acts are five. Jokes are a runner of three for five. Five just seems like a good round number. It’s enough to tell the story but also bring it to a climax without wearing out its welcome. It’s been hard because I haven’t been able to tell everyone. I was thrilled to finally be able to get the word out there.”

The Boysfifth season is set to be released in 2026 on Prime Video. The Franchise will premiere on Sun. Oct. 6 on HBO.
