Comic-Con season calls for exciting updates and exclusives for the highly anticipated media set to be released soon. Prime Video announced that at New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2024, fans will get an exclusive insight into exciting series currently in development, including their newest shows, Secret Level and Cross.
According to mxdwn, Secret Level is an animated adult anthology series from Blur Studio, the creators of Love, Death + Robots, and Amazon MGM Studios. Secret Level will consist of 15 episodes, each in a different beloved video game world. These worlds include Dungeons & Dragons, Concord, Armored Core, Exodus, Crossfire, Mega Man, Honor of Kings, PAC-MAN, New World: Aeternum, The Outer Worlds, Sifu, Warhammer 40,000, Spelunky, Unreal Tournament and PlayStation (highlights of entities from PlayStation Studios).
The trailer teasing Secret Level showcases the innovative quality of animation set within the upcoming series and the expansive worlds the series will explore. According to mxdwn, “Secret Level anthology is the first of its kind to bring together game intellectual properties to television in this way.”
Prime Video’s Secret Level panel will take place on Saturday, October 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET in Room 405 at New York Comic Con. The panel promises to give exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into the series, advertising that “in this panel discussion, fans will get exclusive news, see stunning footage, and learn about what they can expect in the new series from creator/executive producer Tim Miller (Love Death + Robots) and executive producer/supervising director Dave Wilson. Each episode of Secret Level serves as gateway to a new adventure, unlocking exciting worlds from beloved gaming classics – and highly anticipated new titles – to take fans on an unforgettable journey” via Prime Video.
Additionally, the panel for Cross will take place on October 18 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. ET at the New York Comic Con Main Stage, according to the Prime Video press release. The panel will also be available to live stream on NYCC’s website.
According to mxdwn, Cross is live-action adaptation of James Patterson’s (Deadly Cross, Along Came a Spider) novel series of the same name, featuring Aldis Hodge (City on a Hill, Black Adam) as protagonist Alex Cross. The series will consist of eight episodes and “follows detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross stretching the bounds of the law to solve the most heinous crimes committed by the most dangerous murderers” via mxdwn.
Prime Video promises an exciting panel for Cross at New York Comic Con, with cast members Hodge, Samantha Walkes (Orphan: First Kill, Murdoch Mysteries), Isaiah Mustafa (Shadowhunter, Murder At Yellowstone City), Ryan Eggold (New Amsterdam, BlacKKKlansmen) and Alona Tal (Supernatural, Burn Notice), presenting Q&A. Showrunner and executive producer Ben Watkins (Burn Notice, Hand Of God) will also attend the panel.
