According to Deadline, Prime Video has set release date for the upcoming television series Fallout created by Lisa Joy (Westworld, The Plot to Kill My Mother) and Jonathan Nolan (Westworld, Person of Interest). Based on the popular video game franchise of the same name, this series is set to premiere on April 12, 2024. This release date was announced on “Fallout Day,” an annual date instituted by fans to celebrate the Fallout franchise.
Prime Video’s official X/Twitter account posted the premiere date as well as an accompanying video. The post, which can be viewed below, stated “04.12.24. #Fallout.”
As Deadline notes, the television series revolves around an original storyline set in the existing Fallout universe. The first video game in the Fallout franchise, which is titled Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game, was released in 1997. The television series is set in Los Angeles, which has become a wasteland from a nuclear war.
The production companies who have worked on the series are Amazon Studios, Kilter Films, Bethesda Game Studios, and Bethesda Softworks. In addition to Joy and Nolan, executive producers include Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider, Captain Marvel), Graham Wagner (The Office, Silicon Valley), Athena Wickham (Westworld, Mission: Impossible III), Todd Howard (Police Officer, Gameplay), and James Altman (Super Troopers 2).
The cast includes Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Arcane) as Jean, Moisés Arias (Five Feet Apart, The Kings of Summer) as Norm, Johnny Pemberton (Son of Zorn, Pickle and Peanut) as Thaddeus, Aaron Moten (Father Stu, The Transfiguration) as Maximus, Leer Leary (Deck the Heart, Nightwing: Escalation) as Davey, Walton Goggins (Sons of Anarchy, The Righteous Gemstones) as a Ghoul, Xelia Mendes-Jones (Havoc, The Wheel of Time) as an unannounced character, and many more.
Fans of the video game franchise can look forward to seeing Fallout come to life in a series next year.
