Created by Neil Gaiman (The Sandman, Coraline), the television series Good Omens debuted on Prime Video in 2019 and is based on the novel of the same name written by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett (The Colour of Magic, Night Watch). The second season of the series premiered on July 28th, and fans have been awaiting news about the series ever since. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Prime Video announced that Good Omens has been renewed for a third and final season.
The official Instagram account for Good Omens shared the news, stating, “We are ineffably elated to confirm that Good Omens will return for a third season! This calls for a round of hot chocolate and sweet treats!” The post can be viewed below.

As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Gaiman spoke about the renewal and third season, stating, “I’m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006. Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end.”
He continued, “Season one was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies and the End of the World. Season two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped. Now in season three, we will deal once more with the end of the world. The plans for Armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren’t talking.”
Good Omens revolves around an angel named Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen (Underworld, Prodigal Son), and a demon named Crowley, played by David Tennant (Doctor Who, Inside Man). Other cast members include Jon Hamm (Mad Men, The Morning Show) as Gabriel, Derek Jacobi (Hamlet, Henry V) as Metatron, Shelley Conn (Love Sarah, Bridgerton) as Beelzebub, and many more.
Production for the third season of Good Omens, as The Hollywood Reporter notes, will begin in Scotland.
