With its second season recently finishing production, Prime Video’s Fallout has been renewed for a third season. The announcement comes during the week of TV Upfronts, where networks and streamers present their upcoming schedules to stakeholders and advertisers.

According to the press release, the presentation included Fallout stars Ella Purnell (Sweetpea, Arcane), Aaron Moten (Father Stu, Emancipation), and Walton Goggins (The White Lotus, SNL) taking the stage at New York’s Beacon Theater to announce the second season will premiere in December this year. Production had initially been delayed due to last summer’s wildfires in California.

Picking up after the “fallout” of season one’s finale, viewers will follow our distinct characters on a new adventure across the wasteland to the unknown city, New Vegas. The series is based on the popular role-playing video game that follows players surviving in a post-apocalyptic world, where nuclear warfare has left man and machine ravaged in a class war pushed to the extreme.

Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of Season Two.”

The series is created by Jonathan Nolan (Westworld, Person of Interest) and Lisa Joy (The Peripheral, Burn Notice) who executive produce along with showrunners and writers Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider, Artemis) and Graham Wagner (Portlandia, Silicon Valley).
