According to Deadline, Prime Video has released the trailer for the second season of The Wheel of Time. The trailer showcases the characters preparing for the upcoming last battle.
The Wheel of Time is based on the best-selling series of novels by Robert Jordan (Towers of Midnight, The Eye of the World), The Great Hunt, which is one of the most popular fantasy book series of all time and has sold over 90 million copies. The second season borrows elements from the third novel in the series, The Dragon Reborn.
The series stars Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, I Care a Lot) as Moiraine Damodred, Josha Stradowski (High-Flyers, Just Friends) as Rand al’Thor, Daniel Henney (Confidential Assignment 2: International, Big Hero 6) as Lan Mandragoran, Barney Harris (A Brixton Tale, All Roads Lead to Rome) as Mat Cauthon, Zoë Robins (Black Christmas, The Finest) as Nynaeve al’Meara, Marcus Rutherford (County Lines, Father Of The Bride) as Perrin Aybara, Madeleine Madden (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Picnic at Hanging Rock) as Egwene al’Vere, Álvaro Morte (Money Heist, Boundless) as Logain Albar, Alexandre Willaume (The Head, Over the Edge) as Thom Merrilin, Sophie Okonedo (Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, The Secret Life of Bees) as Siuan Sanche, and Hammed Animashaun (Black Ops, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) as Loial.
In the trailer, Pike’s Moiraine says, “Everyone has a choice and every choice has a consequence. We didn’t defeat the dark one, we set him free.”
Season two of The Wheel of Time will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on September 1. It is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios.
Season one of The Wheel of Time debuted on Prime Video on November 19, 2021 and aired the season finale on December 24, 2021.
