Prime Video released a new trailer teasing its upcoming spy series Citadel: Diana, a spinoff of its successful spy thriller show, Citadel. The trailer shows protagonist Diana Cavalieri traversing the high stakes of revenge. The show is dubbed in Italian and subtitled in English.
The spinoff will take place within the world as established by its original series, Citadel. For context, Citadel follows the inner workings of a spy network of the same name, which fell eight years before the show originally began. According to mxdwn, “The [Citadel’s] job was to uphold the safety and security of everyone but was destroyed by Manticore, powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows.” After the Citadel’s fall, the series follows agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh as they are called back into the spy world, facing the threat of Manticore establishing a new world order and taking on the mission to stop them. Actors Richard Madden (Game of Thrones, Rocket Man) and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (The Matrix Resurrections, Baywatch) will return as Mason and Nadia for season two of Citadel, which was renewed by Prime Video in May 2023 and is set to begin production this year in 2024, via mxdwn.

According to Prime Video, the new series will follow Diana Cavalieri, an undercover Citadel agent, in 2030 Milan after Manticore bested the Citadel. The official synopsis reveals that Diana “is alone, trapped behind enemy lines as a mole in Manticore. When she finally sees a way out and the chance to disappear forever, the only way to do so is trusting the most unexpected ally, Edo Zani (Lorenzo Cervasio), the heir of Manticore Italy and son of the head of the Italian organization, Ettore Zani (Maurizio Lombardi), who’s vying for leadership against the other European families.”
Citadel: Diana will premiere worldwide exclusively on Prime Video on October 10 and will consist of six episodes for its first season.
