Prime Video has released the teaser trailer for the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Along with the release of this trailer, it was announced that season five will premiere on April 14, via Variety.
Last year, it was announced that season five would be the end of the series. Season five follows the beloved character Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan, House of Cards) taking the biggest step she has ever taken closer to the success she has always dreamed of. Previously, she had burnt bridges and been cut from her comedy tour, with the fourth season ending on the star in front of Carnegie Hall, but it only resulted in Maisel becoming reinspired to chase her dreams.
Having debuted in 2017, the series was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls) and executive produced by Dan Palladino (Gilmore Girls). Fans have watched Midge’s journey from her seemingly perfect life on the Upper West Side through the cafes and nightclubs of Greenwich Village as she makes her way through the city’s comedy industry, and surely the end of the show audiences can expect to see her reach the success she has been longing for in some way.
The upcoming fifth and final season of Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel released its first teaser yesterday. The clip amounts to a brief shot of Brosnahan in a red-carpet getup, while a voice in the background calls out for Midge. This season will be not only our last look at Brosnahan as Midge but our good-bye to Emmy-winning and -nominated parts for Tony Shalhoub (Monk) and Marin Hinkle (Two and a Half Men) as her parents and Alex Borstein (Family Guy) as Susie. Other cast members for this final season include Michael Zegen (The Stand In), Kevin Pollak (Willow), Caroline Aaron (Edward Scissorhands), Reid Scott (Veep), Alfie Fuller (Standing 8), and Jason Ralph (Those People).
The upcoming season of Amy Sherman-Palladino’s show will premiere on Prime Video on April 14, and it will premiere with three episodes released at once.
