Prime Video Orders ‘Angry Birds Mystery Island’ Animated Series

Deadline has reported that Prime Video and Amazon Kids+ have announced a new animated series from Titmouse and Eric Rogers (Futurama, NYPD Blue), Angry Birds Mystery Island. The series will star Nasim Pedrad (Scream Queens, New Girl), Harvey Guillén (The Thundermans, Shape Islands), Dominic Monaghan (Lost, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King), and Kate Micucci (Raising Hope, The Big Bang Theory).

It will premiere on Amazon Kids+ and Prime Video and the first season will consist of 24 episodes. More details of the series will be announced in the upcoming weeks according to Deadline.

The series will introduce three new Hatchling characters: Mia, Buddy, and Rosie, as well as a foreign-exchange piglet, Hamylton. The characters are given an all-expenses-paid island vacation but they are accidentally catapulted onto an uncharted island. The tweens are left to explore the exotic smells, sights, and unexplained phenomena in the new environment. They quickly learn that they must they must unlock the mysteries of the island together to survive and get back home.

“Working with such a dream team and cast has been the highlight of my career. Together, we are hatching a series full of comedy, heart, and binge-worthy mystery, filled with laugh-out-loud moments,” said Rogers to Deadline.

“We’re excited to work with Amazon to add a new chapter to the Hatchlings’ story in Angry Birds Mystery Island,” said Hanna Valkeapää-Nokkala (Angry Birds – Bubble Trouble, Angry Birds: Summer Madness), Rovio’s head of Brand Licensing to Deadline. “I’m sure fans of the Hatchlings will be eager to see them in their own series, with speaking voices for the first time.”

Along with Rogers, the series will be executive produced by Antonio Canobbio (Girl Rising, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe), Chris Prynoski (Motorcity, Nerdland), Ben Kalina (Big Mouth, The Midnight Gospel), and Shannon Prynoski (Her, Beavis and Butt-Head).
