Prime Video Marks March 27 For Season Two Of Faith-Based Series ‘House of David’

The biblical drama House of David is returning to screens for its second season. Prime Video announced via a press release that the new season will arrive on March 27. The Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios-produced series became a global success, captivating over 40 million viewers.

House of David follows the storied tale of King David, from his humble origins to his ascension to royalty. Season two continues the story with Israel near full collapse under King Saul’s reign. David, the once humbled shepherd, will transition to warrior at the onset of the Age of Iron. His loyalty will be tested as his destiny primes him to usurp the beloved king, and the future of Israel hangs in the balance.

The show stars newcomer Michael Iskander as David, Ali Suliman (Jack Ryan, Arthur the King) as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer (Angels And Demons, Man Of Steel) as Queen Ahinoam, and Stephen Lang (Avatar: The Way of Water, Don’t Breathe) as Samuel. The ensemble includes Indy Lewis (Industry, King and Conqueror), Yali Topoal Margalith (Tattooist of Auschwitz, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder), Ethan Kai (The Turkish Detective, Carnival Row 2), Sam Otto (Snowpiercer, The State), Oded Fehr (Star Trek, La Cocina), Louis Ferreira (Shogun, Breaking Bad), Davood Ghadami (Eastenders, The Chelsea Detective), Ashraf Barhom (Tyrant, The Last Planet) and Alexander Uloom (Sari and Amira, Heera).

Created by Jon Erwin (Truth & Treason, Sarah’s Oil) and Jon Gunn (It’s Not Like That, Jesus Revolution), the series is executive produced by Erwin, Gunn, Jonathan Lloyd Walker (Wu Assassins, Delete), Justin Rosenblatt (Soul Survivors, Flack), Chad Oakes (Ebenezer), Michael Frislev (Hell on Wheels, Vsn Helsing), Trey Callaway (9-1-1: Lone Star, Station 19) and Mark McNair (Outer Range, Panic).

Rosenblatt leads production for Wonder Project, and The Chosen’s Dallas Jenkins is a shareholder and special advisor to the studio. Additional producers are Nomadic Pictures and Argonauts, with Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate Television.

Season one is available to stream on Prime or the Wonder Project streaming service.
