Prime Video has just announced a new series set in the Creed Universe, titled Delphi. According to a press release, the series is the first live-action television extension of the universe and will reportedly follow young boxers on their training journey at the Delphi gym.

The series is executive produced by Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Black Panther) and Elizabeth Raposo (The Fountain, Creed III) via their production company Outlier Society. Marco Ramirez (The Defenders, Orange is the New Black) will also take on an executive producing role and will reportedly also act as showrunner. Winkler Films’ Irwin Winkler (Creed, The Irishman), David Winkler (Creed, The Mechanic), and Charles Winkler (Creed, Creed II) will act as producers.

Creed is itself an offshoot of the iconic Rocky movies from the late 1970s to the 1980s. Released in 2015, the first Creed movie follows the titular former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa, played by Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, The Expendables), as he trains and mentors Adonis Johnson, played by Jordan, the son of his late former rival Apollo Creed.

Creed was wildly successful both critically and commercially and earned Stallone an Oscar nod for his reprisal of one of his most famous roles. With six Rocky movies and three Creed movies so far, the addition of a new series continues to grow the extended Rocky universe that began nearly fifty years ago.

Prime Video has yet to release any cast information or a release date. Delphi will reportedly be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video and will be available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
