Saturday Night Live‘s Colin Jost (How to Be Single), known for his sharp wit in the Weekend Update alongside Michael Che (The Daily Show), is scheduled to be a host for the upcoming game show Pop Culture Jeopardy. His experience as a comedic commentator on current events and pop culture will undoubtedly serve him well as he navigates the fast-paced and often unpredictable world of trivia.
This is the first Jeopardy series created by the streaming service Prime Video. The new spinoff series puts a twist on the quiz show with a combination of academic rigor from the classic and the unpredictability of pop culture.The contestants play in a team of three and answer questions from categories ranging from Gen Z to The Avengers and many other current-related subjects.. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with seven-time Emmy winner Michael Davies (Men in Blazers) serving as executive producer.
The president of Game Shows at Sony Pictures, Suzanne Prete (Wheel of Fortune), has stated, “Colin’s sharp wit and intelligence epitomize Pop Culture Jeopardy!” she continued. “He’s smart and quick, like our contestants, and we know he’ll be able to keep up with them while making this new series his own. We could not be happier that he is joining us on this new journey.”
Jost commented about his new position via Variety, by saying in the typical shows fashion, “What is: I’m excited.”
