Prime Shows Inside Look At Comedy ‘Bait’

Prime Video released first-look pictures as well as an exclusive clip for its new comedy series called Bait. The show centers on a struggling actor having trouble with his life as rumors around a potential new role go viral. The trailer is below.
Bait is a comedy-drama that stars Pakistan actor Riz Ahmed (The Night Of, Sound of Metal) as Shah Latif. The synopsis reads as follows: “His last chance to hit it big comes in the form of an audition of a lifetime. We follow him over the course of four wild days as his life spirals out of control and his family, ex-lover and the entire world weigh in on whether he is the right man for the job.”
Bait also is the first time that Ahmed is directing and acting in a series. He says its the most personal. The actor also goes through racist comments, but fights through them. He works hard and proves that he is worth the role whether it Riz or Latif’s.

Other co-stars and actors include Guz Khan (Army of Thieves, The Bubble) as Zuffi, Sheeba Chaddha (Haq, Doctor G) as Tahira, Sajid Hasan (Jaan Nisar, Balaa) as Parvez Aasiya Shah (Unforgotten, Bloods) as Q, Weruche Opia (Sliced, Our House) as Felicia, and Ritu Arya (Red Notice, Polite Society) as Yasmin, plus many other talented people.

The show is executive produced by Ahmed and Allie Moore (Hamelt, Halt and Catch Fire) by the company called Left Handed. Jake Fuller (Emily in Paris, Colby) joins them on behalf of Jax Media. Ben Karlin (Modern Family, 50/50) produces the show along side of Amazon MGM Studios.

Ahmed was recently seen in the film Relay, an American thriller directed by David Mackenzie (Under the Banner of Heaven, Hello or High Water) and written by Justin Piasecki (The Expendables 4, Collecting Canada). Ahmed stars as Ash, a fixer who mediates between companies and the whistleblowers determined to expose them.

They started writing after being inspired by James Patterson, ‘The Angel Experiment’ and decided from then on, they wanted to inspire others about writing too.
