A brief sneak preview was given for the revival of the new Lizzie McGuire series that is set to premiere on Disney+ in the 2020 year. The hype around the show intensified as a newly released teaser trailer is a minute-long promo that Disney released earlier today to publicize all the new shows and films that will individually make their way onto the streaming service throughout the 2020 year. Near the end of the video (here) are the first words audiences are teased with for the new series. “Hi, it’s me” says an older Lizzie McGuire.
Hilary Duff is of course stepping back into the role along with her original co-stars, Adam Lamberg, Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, Jake Thomas, and Ashley Brillault, Clayton Snyder, and Lalaine all of which were confirmed in the latter part of the 2019 year. The announcement for the new show, which was originally debuted at the D23 expo is set to pick up on Lizzie’s 30thbirthday. According to TVGuide, Lizzie lives out her dream as an interior decorator living in New York City with her ideal boyfriend. Although things look perfect, they aren’t all that it’s cracked up to be. The show is taking the notion of having Lizzie (Hilary Duff) “struggling with some self-doubt and uncertainty about her current stage of life.” (SheKnows)
All of the aspects of the original show will most definitely be included to stay true to the series revival as well as fans of the show and film. Those aspects can include like the cartoon drawings of Lizzie, and inserts of the third person narrative commentary throughout the episode.
The show is excepted to debut on Disney+’s streaming service later on within the 2020 year.
