Entertainment Weekly reports that 2.97 million viewers tuned in for the season opener. This is an increase from the 2.93 million viewers who watched the previous season’s premiere. The episode also grew 31 percent in the 18-34 demographic and ranked as cable’s No. 1 scripted drama of the night.
Pretty Little Liars has always had a large fan following on twitter. A few months ago, the large following was the subject of an Entertainment Weekly cover story, but the season 4 premiere broke the bank, generating nearly 1.3 million tweets. The episode was the “most tweeted” season premiere for any TV show.
