Syfy seemed to have a taken page from Netflix when they launched season 3 of 12 Monkeys all in one weekend. It was obviously a tactical move as they also announced season 4 prior to 3 even starting. Touting it as the “fourth and final season” there will be 10 episodes and they will also be launched in one weekend.
While a specific release date has not been announced, Entertainment Weekly listed it as part of the Summer 2018 returns. They also released the above photo with the article. Executive producer Terry Matalas noted on Facebook “Summer is all they want us to say. Hopefully they’ll announce soon. But it’s not May… that’s all I’ll say.”
SyFy had previously released a trailer during San Diego Comic-Con that left fans clamoring for more:
In 12 Monkeys casting news, a popular Game of Thrones vet will make an appearance. Conleth Hill, the manipulating Varys on GoT, will have a part in a couple of episodes. His GoT colleague Hannah Waddingham had a similar role in season 3.
Hill’s character, Bonham, will be a present day police officer who questions his faith and family regarding a supposed time-traveling device left in his possession. Knowing the pending world doom, he wonders whether the relic is valid.
Until we know an exact return date for 12 Monkey, enjoy the season 4 promo poster!
