CEO of FX Networks, John Landgraf, has announced there is a possibility of a companion series for the popular show American Horror Story: Coven, as stated by the Hollywood Reporter.
It was in March during the American Horror Story panel at PaleyFest when the idea first came up, and was reported by the Hollywood Reporter. Ryan Murphy, a co-creator of the series mentioned he had been in talks with Landgraf about the matter but did not confirm anything.
Landgraf has told the Hollywood Reporter that there has been no final decision on the matter yet. There has not been any decision made on the inclusion of Murphy or any possible hosts for the show either.
On whether the possible add on series would follow the format of AMC’s the Talking Dead, Landgraf has said, “If we do it I don’t think we’ll necessarily do it the way AMC does, as a linear thing. We might do an online thing. We haven’t made a final decision but I think there’s a decent possibility we’re going to do something like that for Coven.”
Also revealed during PaleyFest were some details about the upcoming season, which will focus on witches. Co-creator Murphy said, “You’re going to see a very different tone in season three, but that’s the joy of the show. I think as a person right now, I do feel lighter and wanting to embrace something a little bit more fun.”
