The possible reboot of the highly acclaimed crime series Bones has started with several alums from the show on board. The series follows the team-up between the forensic and FBI solving cases. It first aired on September 13, 2005, for 12 seasons. According to Screenrant, the potential revival started with David Boreanaz (Seal Team), who played Seeley Booth, and Emily Deschanel (Devil in Ohio), who played Temperance “Bones” Brennan in the crime series. Along with Boreanaz and Deschanel, the remaining cast of the series included Michaela Conlin (Bad Trip), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Carla Gallo (Neighbors), John Francis Daley (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) and Tamara Taylor (October Faction).
While no official announcements have been made, fans are buzzing with speculation about which character could be the focus of this new series.According to Screenrant, after Boreanaz and Deschanel voiced their desires for reboot via an X post, Kathy Reichs (Fire and Bones), whose works are the focal point of the series, voiced her support for the idea which can be seen below. A reboot of Bones could offer a fresh perspective on the characters and their lives, as well as provide an opportunity to introduce new characters and storylines. The reboot could also introduce the series to a new generation to the renowned crime series, as well as drawing in new viewers.
According to Screenrant, Boreanaz first sparked the idea in August but further stated that the show had a unique success that would be difficult to replicate. The series has garnered and attracted a strong fanbase that has supported the series to this day. While the series’ fans await reboot confirmation, the 12 seasons are available to stream on Peacock. The potential for a revival seems partically high with Boreanaz and Deschanel on board.
