Fox has given a straight-to-series order to its last pilot of the season, Pivoting, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The comedy stars Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings), Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon a Time), and Maggie Q (Nikita).
Pivoting follows three childhood friends who reunite after the death of their longtime best friend. After facing the realization that life is short, the group strengthens their bond by making a series of impulsive and self-indulgent decisions in order to make the most of the time they have left. The series was the final pilot order awaiting a decision at the network and has been given a debut season of ten episodes. Alongside Pivoting Fox also picked up drama The Cleaning Lady, the drama Monarch, and Lee Daniels’ (The Butler) drama, Our Kind of People.
The network also recently announced renewals, including several on its animation roster – Bob’s Burgers, Duncanville, Family Guy, The Great North, and The Simpsons. Most recently, Fox announced the second season renewal for the Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory) led comedy series Call Me Kat.
Alongside Coupe, Goodwin, and Q, Pivoting also stars Tommy Dewey (Now We’re Talking), JT Neal (Malibu Rescue), and Marcello Julian Reyes (Modern Family).
