Phylicia Rashad (Fox’s Empire) has joined forces with Netflix’s Virgin River executive production team Roma Roth and Christopher E. Perry to executive produce and possibly star in a TV series adaptation of the Eternity Springs novels, according to Deadline. Most widely known for her role of Claire Huxtable on the long running hit sitcom The Cosby Show, Rashad may possibly star in the series if her schedule allows.
Emily March’s Eternity Springs is an ongoing 18 part novel series. Writer John E. Pogue (Beauty and the Beast, Everwood) is expected to write the series adaptation according to Deadline.
Reel World Management duo Roth and Perry will executive produce the series with Rashad and Pogue on board as well. Rosana Roth part of the Reel World Management team is also part of the upcoming project credited as a co producer according to Deadline. No network is yet attached to the novel series adaptation. Reel World Management and Rashad are currently preparing the series for market.
The storyline for the developing series is largely under wraps. According to Deadline, the producers say the show will explore important and meaningful present day issues while appealing to a diverse and multi-generational audience.

Rashad recently appeared in Netflix’s Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey and is currently playing the role of Carol on NBC’s hit drama series This Is Us. Rashad has also recently been credited in Disney’ animated feature Soul, Fox’s Empire and Tarrell Alvin McCraney’s Peabody Award Winning series David Makes Man on OWN.
